The Town of Zebulon has a rich history and wonderful staff.
The Town of Zebulon is located in eastern Wake County, 16 miles east of Raleigh and 25 miles east of the Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU). Surrounding municipalities are Wendell, five miles southwest, and Knightdale, 10 miles west.
Zebulon is governed by a council-manager form of government. The Town government consists of a mayoral position and a five-person nonpartisan Board of Commissioners, all of which are elected. All Board positions, including the mayoral position, serve on the basis of four-year terms. The mayoral position is currently held by Bob Matheny. Matheny was first elected in 1994 and continues to serve in this position.
